MEET HARRY
I'm a guitar tutor based in Southend-on-Sea, offering acoustic and electric guitar lessons for players of all abilities. I've been teaching guitar for 20 years and have been playing since I was a child. I also now offer Zoom lessons for remote learning from the comfort of your own home!
I specialise in teaching absolute beginners in a fun, relaxed environment — no pressure, just good music. Whether you want to strum along to your favourite songs or dive into music theory, I'll tailor lessons to suit your goals.
Lessons are held at my home studio near Southend Airport, or online via Zoom.

I've had lessons with Harry for years coming back to him after a long break. I've always enjoyed learning with him, he has a very easy going, flexible teaching style across lots of musical styles. No, you don't need your own guitar! I have guitars available at my studio for students to use during lessons. This is perfect for beginners who want to try lessons before investing in their own instrument.
One-to-one lessons start from £18 for 30 minutes or £30 for 1 hour. Zoom lessons are the same price. Parent & child sessions are £30 for 45 minutes. All learning materials are included at no extra cost.
I teach children from around 6-7 years old, depending on their interest and ability to focus. Younger students typically start with 30-minute lessons. I also offer parent & child sessions which are great for younger beginners.
This varies for everyone! With regular practice, most beginners can play simple songs within a few months. The key is consistent practice between lessons. I'll give you practice tips and exercises to help you progress at your own pace.
I teach both! Whether you want to learn acoustic guitar for strumming along to songs or electric guitar for rock and lead playing, I can help. Many students learn both styles. We'll tailor lessons to your musical interests.
